Saving seeds from your berries, fruit and nut trees is a great way to complete the growing circle and save money. Annual fruiting plants such as cantaloupe and watermelon are perfect for saving seeds from one season to the next picking the strongest plants each time to improve yield and flavor.

Some fruit trees can also be started from seed which is a cost effective way to expand an orchard. You can also make money by selling seedlings at local markets in the spring from seeds taken the year before.
