Broccoli and cauliflower are winter grown vegetables that will come into season from the middle of winter to spring. In some climates they can be grown all year round so keep an eye out for specials in the fresh food section of your supermarket.
They freeze well so even if you can’t find fresh frozen is often just as good. To save money buy extra when in season then blanch and freeze in freezer bags for later.
Broccoli and cauliflowers go well in casseroles or simply steamed with a light sauce. Try mixing together 1/2 Tsp. Dijon mustard with 1 Tbsp. whole egg mayonnaise and a squeeze of lemon juice for a quick sauce.
