Carrots and beetroot are root vegetables high in essential nutrients we all need in a balanced diet. They don’t have to be bland and pair well with many different spices.
Carrots are a staple of every cuisine. They can be grown all year round and are one of the most inexpensive vegetables you can buy fresh. They can be roasted, mashed, steamed or shredded and added to stir fry’s or bolognaise.
Beetroot are an easy crop to grow from seed at home and are wonderful pickled and canned, roasted or made into soup.
