Simply Delicious Apricot Jam

This recipe for simply delicious apricot jam is an easy jam to make with apricots being the star ingredient. There is no need to peel the apricots making this an easy jam to make at home.

For this jam I have cut the apricots into quarters however the size you cut the fruit is up to personal preference. Either lemon juice or apple cider vinegar can be used depending on what you have on hand.

How long will canned apricot jam last?

When stored in a cool dark place such as your pantry, canned apricot jam will last for 1 to 2 years. Always check for signs of spoilage when opening such as the look and smell.

Should you refrigerate apricot jam after opening?

Yes, it is always best to store jam in the fridge after opening. It will keep up to 3 months in the fridge.

Does apple cider vinegar affect the flavor of the apricot jam?

No, as long as you use the amount listed in the recipe you will not be able to taste it.

Saving Money


The best way to save money on this jam is to grow your own apricots. Apricot trees grow best in temperate climates however they will grow well in a wide range of conditions as long as they have free draining soil and full sun.

Alternatively buy apricots when you see them on special at the store which is when they are in season. This is usually from early summer through to the fall depending on your local climate. Farmers markets or direct from the farm gate is also a great option.
