The Quickest Way To Reheat Food

The quickest way to reheat food in a microwave is to use this simple method that will cut down energy costs and save time.

Try cooking enough food for two nights. This saves time and energy as you are not using the stove every night. I personally love to cook, but sometimes I just don’t feel like it or have the time so this is a good method.

In the winter you can heat up a plate of food on your slow combustion wood heater if you have one, but you do have to remember to put it on an hour before you are ready to eat and you can only use stoneware plates.   The guide is here:  How to heat up leftovers

In the warmer months or when you don’t have time, try this method to quickly and evenly reheat a plate of food.

Time needed: 5 minutes.

The Quickest Way to Reheat Food

  1. Make a Hole in the Centre

As you can see in the photo, simply make a hole in the centre of the plate then evenly distribute the food around the edge.

  2. Cover then Microwave

Put the plate in the microwave with a plate cover then microwave on high for 3 minutes.

  3. Additional Time if Needed

Your time will vary with the type of microwave you have and depending on the density of the food.  You may have to give it a stir and microwave again, but usually this is not necessary as this method is enough to heat the food through using less time and energy.
